The easy solution to many conditions where clinical diagnosis is difficult before major damage to the liver manifests itself and it is too late to correct. It is vital that all horse owners and riders can recognise the signs of potential liver problems and take action to remedy them as soon as possible.

When the liver does not function properly it can lead to many different problems and allergies: the bile does not excrete freely into the intestinal tract and so passes off into the blood stream and throughout the rest of the system, causing a toxic condition. This can lead to poor appetite and discomfort over the liver area, thus causing other 'symptoms', for example lameness in the near fore or off hind, hanging to the left, dislike of working on the right rein, hyper-tension or hot temperament, head shaking and mood swings. Mucus my also accumulate in the blood stream which ends up in the lungs.

The main issue that concern the liver is diet related, the over or misuse of chemical wormers or when there has been the need for a lot of medication.

Laminade

Laminitis is a dreaded condition for many horse owners. It can be caused by overfeeding, too much lush grass at once or by stress caused by trauma elsewhere.

This product contains herbs that are specifically to aid circulation and there have been excellent results with horses and ponies suffering from laminitis. (It is very important when treating laminitis that the diet is simple and includes no processed food).

Another tip to treat the problem is to dilute old fashioned washing soda in warm water and then soak the feet in buckets of this solution daily. This helps to remove the heat and alleviate the pain. In the absence of washing soda Epsom salts will make a good substitute.

Usage: 30ml twice per day for horses. 20ml twice per day for ponies. Can be mixed into feed or given orally by syringe.

This formula is not an instant pain killer and it contains NO Phenylbutazone. The herbs that are used are known for their alterative (cleansing) properties and aid the body to natural healing. This combination includes cell proliferants which naturally regenerate new cells.

Super-Iron is a high iron supplement and it is an excellent conditioning powder, improving coat, enriching colour, aiding appetite and aiding general well being. The benefit of giving herbal iron is that due to the iron having already been digested and assimilated by the plant, it is much easier for the horse to absorb. Whereas many non-herbal iron tonics can be quite harsh on the liver, the herbal iron tonic is not.
